If you want to enjoy the beaches in Maresme which is not too far from Barcelona, I recommend you to visit Sant Pol de Mar. All the beaches in the Maresme are beautiful and the good thing is it’s just close to Barcelona. It will take you more or less one hour from the train station in Plaza Catalunya.

What to do in Sant Pol de Mar Restaurants and Beaches.
Transportation
If you don’t have a car and wish to swim outside of Barcelona this is the easiest route to do so.
The Beaches
Sant Pol de Mar is a small town between Canet de Mar and Calella you can easily run or walk from Sant Pol de Mar to visit the other town. It’s one of the favorite swimming destinations and the beaches are sometimes not too crowded. I really like to swim here the beaches are sandy and the water is crystal clear. In many circumstances, you can even see some little fish around while you were swimming in the water. The beach is long and you can walk as long as you can to find your spot to take lay down in the sun. There’s one Cala nearby as well which is the popular Cala Roca Grossa, in which the panorama on the top is beautiful to take a photo with this rock in the middle.
The Restaurant
So far, for the restaurant, there are a few nice ones around the area. I have been to a few restaurants, but my favorite is Restaurant Can Talamas they only do menus that cost 24 euros each. The menu comes with a first and second plate, drinks, and a dessert. I believe it’s owned by a Catalan family and the food here was really good. I recommend you reserve a table if you are planning to go because this place is known by many. I have been only twice, but the times we were here the restaurant is always full. It’s a good place for a big group as they have big tables for celebrations and events.
If you don’t feel like eating in a restaurant you can also eat in front of the beach and take-away. One time, we tried to order polo a last it’s a typical lunch every Sunday in Spain. There’s one place that sells really good pollo a l’ast and you can also take other food they such as croquetas, vegetables, potatoes and more.
