Not everyone can travel for a long time that’s why I created this best 10 days Puglia Itinerary. So, we make sure we visit and enjoy some of the must-see places in this region of southern Italy. In this article, I will share with you the places that we visit and recommendations for accommodation and restaurants.

Here are my best 10 Days Puglia Itinerary
As we are based in Barcelona so the flight might not be too complicated from here to Bari. We looked for a flight using Skyscanner and look for the best deal that we can book from there. From Barcelona, we need to make a stopover at Bergamo Airport and then wait for our connecting flight from Bergamo – Bari Airport.
Puglia is pretty big so you have to rent your own car because I don’t think there’s no good public transportation around to tour the best spot in Puglia. Also, it’s good to rent your own car to fully enjoy your journey to Puglia and I hope you find this useful and help your travel to Puglia.
Bari and Ostuni ( 2 days and 1 night)
Once we finished with the car rental company we drove directly to Bari and visit this famous place Polignano a mare. It’s really beautiful, especially the houses clinging to the cliffs and a very scenic view of the sea. We walk around this village and we are really amazed at just how beautiful it is.
We went to Puglia the second week of September and the weather was still perfect and warm with fewer tourists in some cities we have been to.
Everywhere you go there’s always a perfect spot to take pictures and you’ll have to need a big space for your memory card if you want to capture many photos.
The Town
Food Culture
In this area, we tried this very popular sandwich restaurant that you/’ll probably see in many blog articles and YouTube videos please try this Panino Con Polpo Fritto is really good and huge enough.
La Focacceria Delle Noci Marco
We also found this place, I recommend trying every takeaway food as I think it’s not only good but also good to save for your travel fund and still be able to feel full.
Ostuni
The first night in Puglia was in Ostuni, the city is all white and the houses are really beautiful.
Restaurant
The first dinner is also here in Ostuni and we tried this amazing restaurant and I recommend you to go in the afternoon to have a drink here during sunset. The name of this place is Borgo Antico Bistrot and I really recommend this place if you happen to be in Ostuni.
The place is really romantic and can you imagine we ordered all this food for only 25 euros for sharing that is so cheap. I was really happy and how pretty these plates are and the vibe of the place is really nice in the darkness with beautiful lights around.
Lecce, Otranto, and Gallipoli ( 4 days and 3 nights)
Lecce
We just tour around the town the thing is everything is beautiful no days are wasted for us no matter what we do here. It’s good to know the center side and the town outside of this city and having a rented car gives us a lot of flexibility to enjoy this travel.
Restaurants
A really interesting takeaway restaurant in Lecce that you must try is Mezzo Quinto.
All the food that we order here was delicious and these are affordable.
Places we visit while staying in Lecce:
Baia dei Turchi
The amazing part of this travel is going to this place, you can’t go directly by car there and you need to park your car a bit far from the beach. There’s a bus exclusively to go to the beach area or you can just walk from your car park. We found this place it’s an olive farm place where you can leave your car free of charge.
The water is crystal clear with no rocks and you can walk as the water is very low.
This was the best part of the trip and I really like this place so much that we change our plan to go back again the next day just to stay here all day.
Cave of Poetry
It’s indeed a really beautiful place and worth the visit, there’s a fee to enter to go to this place and if you feel like you can also swim here.
Many people are cliff diving from above and the water is also crystal clear.
Cave di Bauxite
This is quite a different place to visit but really interesting it’s like you are on Mars and the color of the land is just red.
Otranto
We stayed one night in this area and stay for a short time just to see the beaches here, we read a lot of good reviews but I don’t personally like it and maybe at that moment the water is not crystal clear enough compare to Baia dei Turchi.
Restaurant
Really cool place in Otranto and the name is L’Ortale Ristoro Salentissimo I recommend this place.
Gallipoli
I recommend also visiting this city the accommodation here is cheaper and it’s a good stopover for a night.
Restaurant
For the restaurant, we tried this place Trattoria Santa Monaca.
Martina Franca and Alberobello ( 2 days and 1 night)
Before going to Alberobello we stopped in Martina Franca just to walk around for some hours.
We stayed in a Trulli for an experience there are several hotels in Alberobello where you can book easily y from booking.com the experience was amazing and the hotel we stayed at is really beautiful.
Alberobello was included in the list of world heritage sites by UNESCO and this place is just beautiful not only in pictures but in real life. All these whitewashed houses in stone huts and there are many of these kinds of houses decorated beautifully.
Restaurant
For the restaurant I highly recommend you to go directly to this place, it’s the best restaurant I have ever been to in Puglia. The name of the restaurant is Ristorante Gli Ulivi Alberobello you will not regret this place is the best for sure. The price, quantity, and authenticity of the food are 100 percent and also the service was so good.
It was so good that we only ate here in this restaurant for lunch and dinner.
Matera and Bari ( 2 days and 1 night)
For the last stop of our best 10 Days, Puglia Itinerary is in Matera. If we had more days, I will extend our stay here in Matera it’s just this city is really unique.
