First, I used to like this spot because it was a Japanese restaurant way back then with an open kitchen concept where you could see they were cooking the Okonomiyaki. Sadly, this Japanese restaurant has been replaced by the new restaurant Berbena. It’s a small restaurant in Gracia just close to diagonal and they serve an innovative Catalan and Spanish cuisine menus.

The Restaurant
I like the restaurant and its simple interior design and background music it’s just perfect if you prefer to talk in a quieter place with bossa nova music. I like they maintain to remain the open kitchen so you can really see the kitchen staff preparing the food. I can really tell the restaurant is fully booked. It’s quite hard to get a table you need to call in advance if you want it to be on your preferred date.
The Food
Their menu changes and it depends on the season what I might post now, can’t be the same in future visits. The staff as well are really nice and helpful explaining every detail of what’s on the menu and also if you like some dishes you can also ask to do it half by half for you to be able to try some of them.
The place is really small and they do table turns most of the days in the week they open at 7:30 pm and only Fridays they open at 2:30 pm. I would say this is the place where you can celebrate any special day eating in a Michelin kind of restaurant without breaking your wallet that much. I highly recommend it, and I would go back again in the future for sure.
